Kimball's Babe Twelve

We got the printer out and Will got his computer going to type up a letter to the USA Coast Guard regarding our boat; we are trying to get it licensed in the USA and there are lots of loops to jump through and forms to fill out and fees to pay.  One of the requirements for insurance is to have an out of the water surgery. We called Bill Stright from Pictou yesterday and he was able to come out today! Here is Bill in his uniform.  He crawled all around under the boat; we heard a lot of tapping and poking going on.After about an hour of so he showed us two area.  First here on the portside the hull is sort of bent where the barrel is; he said it is an area to watch. The second area is here at the stern where a few brace bars are rotting.  Nothing to be concerned with right away, but something to keep our eye on and be prepared to replace. Will and Bill talked about one of the forms for the Coast Guard requesting measurements of width, height and length.  They are figuring the volume we figured. Can you find him? There is a fox cub; he is so cute!He must live under that large gray trailer because that is where he ran to when we got closer.Where we keep the boat there is a huge paint shop; they just painted the truck and used the big cranes to  help with reassembly.Theodore stopped but o see if we were ready to put the boat in the water; we invited him for lunch, but he had to get back to mowing his grass. We have a neat little spot for working on our boat; it is like a vacation.  A work vacation or maybe a work spa.  We are sore and getting in better shape with working hard every day. This is how much dirt Kathy got out of the bilges with the shop vac! Will took the filter of the shop vac and hit it around a bit to clean it off. Then Kathy did the rugs. Will checked out the two different wenches we bought and decided which one to keep; we are going to use it to help raise the anchor instead of a windless.See the water jugs; we are going to use them tomorrow.  Stay tuned to see just what we are going to do with them.
