South to North Carolina

Today is a good day to drive! Gas prices are below $2! Going over and under as we head south. Crossing a few states too. Just look at that view. And that one; there are so many beautiful sites as we travel along I77. And the trees are splashing their colors all over the place. Bright yellows. And really bright yellows! We arrived in NC and settled in at the Walmart for the evening. Dinner: left over meat pie and some antipasta.  Anyone know what those red and orange things are?  The others are artichoke hearts, black olives and grapeleaf.

New River Gorge WV

Today is a good day to drive! Look at that color! The river and the gorge is a great place to stop and to enjoy the display of natural forces around you. The New River Bridge is the longest arch bridge in the world. The name, New River, is not an accurate description because this river may be one of the oldest in North America. Below you can see the river.  The park is known for whitewater!  The river falls 750 feet in 50 miles from Bluestone Dame to Gauley Bridge creating one of the finest whitewater rivers in the eastern USA. Time for some picture taking.... We drove down the windy road to the river. It had rained yesterday and the waterfalls were running and falling. Great views. We parked at the Bluestone River Overlook for the night and enjoyed the view.

On The Road Again

After four weeks in Pittsburgh we are heading outta town.  Bye, Ria and Cliffie, Thanks for letting us park at your place. Past the small towns and under the blue bridge that lets you know you have left Pittsburgh. Before we knew it we were crossing in to West Virginia. Trees are still showing off their colors. Look, a rainbow.  "Today is a good day to drive!" Spent the night in Summersville, WV at the Waldrof (WalMart directly right out front).

After three years of waiting the house on Beech Road is about to have new owners. If you need legal service, John Ament did wonders for our legal needs. Davey and Kristi arrived and double congrats were in order:  the house and the adoption of their two boys coming up soon. There were lots of forms to sign. And there another hour of forms for Davey and Kristy to sign; John did the short version of explaining each form. Sill signing forms.... And then the sign and pass and sign finally arrived. And the handing over of the check; it is almost done. Deposit the check; it is done!  Free.  Free at last.

Pittsburgh Days

Will worked on his Van-Goth costume for the Peffer Halloween party; Kathy is going to be Goth-witch; what a cute couple they will be! We did lots of leaf peeping. Will took Hunter to  walk in the dog park at Hartwood Acres. Hunter sure enjoyed his time playing with four legged critters like himself. Kathy did shopping for the sister weekend picking up all likes of great healthy snacks. Blackberry grunt with blackberries from Canada. Carmine, that pumpkin bread was so good for breakfast. A small load of asphalt was delivered to Maria's  Maria and Kathy helped shovel; it was like working with their Dad....work work and getter done. Shawn got used the mower to help compact it.
