Challenger Center of the Rio Grande Valley

Kathy is a founding member of Challenger Center. She joined after applying to be the Teacher In Space from Pennsylvania and watching the space shuttle Challenger explode with her class.  She believes that space science helps children learn their math and science objectives in a fun way and prepares children for the future. We found the San Benito Challenger center after we retired and came to the Valley; we volunteer there as our schedule permits. Bauldy had worked with Challenger and now is with the TV production at the school Beto and Art do school programs as well as missions at the center. After our pizza party everyone worked on making a model rocket. Kathy loves model rockets; she took teacher workshops and taught lessons including a summer program in Krasnoyarsk, Russia The Walker Boys and the RedHead Express did a few songs for school officials, San Benito newspaper and the Harlingen School TV Autographs Then finishing touches on the rockets Intervie
