Water
As I sit here overlooking the water I realize that I love the water. Not getting in it so much. Not floating upon it like one of those strider bugs, although floating along on a good size boat that I don’t have to manage is kinda fun. I love looking at it. It is comforting and peaceful. Ocean water has its calming waves unless there is a storm. There is the rhythm of the swells, the crash of the waves and the lapping along the shore. River water is a little different. It flows gracefully unless there is a big flood of water spilling it over its banks. Swamp water sits and is filled with activity as bugs and snakes scamper about. Unless of course an alligator chooses to thrash its food around. If we lived on large water there would be ships to watch. If we lived on small water there could be rafts or boats to watch. Watching is good. I don’t need to be on the water or in it to love and appreciate it.
