Going Home

On the road

Covered up

Image
It was a cool fall day and the geese were starting their trip south as we started the process of putting a tarp over the exposed area of the boat. Last year we covered the entire boat. This year we are doing just the open back deck area. Just need to get rid of the trash. We will soon be following the geese

Hair cut

Kathy let Katie cut her hair!

Changing homes

Image
Our floating cottage is out on dry land for the winter. We are repacking the Roadtrek with all of our belongings. Imagine changing homes and you get a glimpse of what we are doing here. Cupboards on the boat are bare and getting a good cleaning. Cupboards in the Roadtrek are getting packed up. Hard to believe it all fit back in the Roadtrek. Next job is to winterize the boat. Antifreeze for the water cooling system and the toilet. Next big job is putting the tarp over the boat. Time for a break with friends. Yes, we were playing Chicken Foot. Fun game. We will be heading south soon.

Peek-a-boo

just love sunrise and sunset. The happen everyday and are so different and special. Enjoy them when you can.

Apple Pie

Image
We picked wild apples the other day. Lots of bruise spots and worm holes, but Kathy got enough to make Will an apple pie. Maria, thanks for the recipe. Last time to use our oven this season. It stays in the boat. Golden brown in the outside and bubbly delicious on the inside. Oh my was that good.

Food and Freiends

We saw Robbie in our way to Sharon's Restaurant. Had our usual-liver and onions. No many people like it but we sure do. Sharon's makes home cooked meals and their liver and onions are great. We passed the bagpipers playing for Homwcoming Day. Too bad it was raining. Oh my the pool is gone at our Friend's house so autumn must be here! David was sanding down the neck on his guitar. He was maligning it just right for his little hands. He can sure play those rock' roll riffs. We got a surprise tonight. ---wings cooked in a really neat pan that turns and spins the contents in just a tablespoon of fat. Homemade blueberry Grunts for desert! Taste just as good, maybe even better than those from Salt Water Cafe. But theirs have a cherry on top. Visited with Sue and Gerhard and had the best veggie pizza. ... Homemade! And we also got fresh garden veggies ti enjoy later. Back at Darlene and David's a few nights later and... Grunts with a twist--- Neapolitan ice cream. And
