Disney's Hollywood Studio

Well, back to the magic of Disney today.

Can you guess where we are headed?

Yep, Hollywood Disney Studios

There is Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Streets of America, Commissary Lane, Pixlar Place, Mickey Avenue Animation Courtyard and Sunset Boulevard.

Lots to look at and fun things to keep us busy all day long.

We did our Fast Pass for three things; that is the limit.  We learned not to FP shows this time of year because everyone gets in anyway.  We arrived early for The Great Mocie Ride, a journey into some of Hollywood's most famous films so we had time to walk around.

We saw a few characters being escorted to picture taking areas; their chaperones make sure no one stops them.

Loved seeing the hand and feet prints of stars from back in our day.

And Will found a car he liked.

Just click your heels three times and you will get home....

We are going to see that car jump through the fire!

Walt Disney was a man with many dreams and he worked hard to make them come true.  I like one thing he said: It is important that you have a major failure when you are young so you know how to deal with failure and move on.

Okay, time for that ride through the movies...

Ohe of Kathy's favorites, John Wayne, was there.

And we sang while going through the set for Wizard of OZ.

Speaking of sets, here in Disney Hollywood they are everywhere.

Oh yes!

Time for the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular where we cheer Indy and Marion as they perform amazing stunts and demonstrate movie making.

Remember that scene with Indy running to get away from the rolling ball.

It is 400 pounds of rubber rolling along.

The fire scenes are staged perfectly so no one gets hurt.

And those fight scenes are like dances with no real punches actually hitting.

Okay off to some action with mortors and lights.

Yep, that is Lightning McQueen!!

To do a one shot they had four identical red cars so that the stunts all work and in the movie you think it is just the same red car.  One had a driver hanging out the side; it is the red car on the far right. The one in the middle has a driver that actually sits facing the back because that car drives backwards.  And the regular car that zooms around driving frontward.

The 3-D magic of the Muppets was a fun show.

Star Tours-The Adventure Continues was great!! You could feel the power of the Force during the 3-D motion-simulated space flight and see 3-CPO and R2D2 too.

Where does that road go? And who are those two posing with Will; oh, they are doing a selfie.  There were lots of people doing selfies all over the place.

Honey, I Shrunk The Kids movie set is now a playground for everyone to enjoy.

Will, what are you doing up on that corn stalk?

Now that is a giant bottle of soda!

Hi Mickey!  He did wave at us.

There are so many movie theater facades.

Look carefully....

Time for something to eat; we picked a caesar salad and pizza from Catalina Eddie's followed by an ice cream from Hollywood Scoops.

Fantasmic is a show about the power of dreams.  There were stunning pyrotechnics and water projections.  The stadium was filled to capacity.

Micky saved the day controlling his dream.

We took the ferryboat, Friendship4 over to Epcot with stops at some resorts along the way.

We walked around Epcot and did Spaceship Earth.

A ride through time....and the car just stopped here. We sat about five minutes before they got things going again; we could have sat there all night.

But the ride continued from  past to future.  Kathy trying on some new future clothes.

And Will enjoying his coffee by the fireplace.

We took a bus to Saratoga Resort then walked over to Downtown Disney and eventually made it back to the van.  What a great magical day!
