Van-Go on the Go

There is a lot to see!

Kathy found Scully and he wasn't scary at all, but he gives a strong pat on the back!

Murals around the city....

Look bubbles!  (Forrest Sr. loved bubbles.  For many years we would blow bubbles in different places because we couldn't call him and tell him about those places.  We still carry a bottle of bubbles for Forrest.  Miss him)

These characters are real people who romped these streets in days gone by.

Bastion Square was filled with vendors and artists.  It was the original site of the city.

This museum is devoted to the sailing and shipping history of British Columbia.  The sail-driven dugout canoe, Tillikum is here; it saided from Victoria to England from 1901-1904.

This sculpture can be seen from the Inner Harbour.

More mural we found walking along the water front.

The blue bridge can be seen in the background.

Float planes come and go all day long.

And in the distance our Ferry is coming in to view.

Martin Machacek (www.martycultural.com) has some interesting paintings!  There are many artists and native craftsmen along the water front. Last time we were here we hardly left this area there was so much to enjoy.  This visit we ventured a bit further, but still there is much to see: China Town, Fan Tan Alley, Harbor Ferries, Beacon Hill, Oak Bay, Craigdarroch Castle, Butchart Gardens, Bug Zoo and Tea for Two just to name a few.

But our ferry is here to take us back across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

A tourist stop, the inner harbor.

Ready to board the MV COCO ferry bound for Port Angeles, WA.

Here we go.....

We met David Macoll, a teacher in London on extended holiday. He is on a bicycle! Soon he will leave the states and take a flight to Australia where he hopes to spend some travel time and eventually get a teaching job.  Go luck, David.

Good bye Victoria, until we can return again.

Hello Port Angeles!
