Tieton Dam to Ellensburg Fair and Rodeo WA

We departed from our spot under the tall Ponderosa Pines.

Today is a good day to drive!

The trees became scare.

We were following the Tieton River.

The rocks are lava flows from days gone by.

Neat formation!

This area is fruit country.

Washington is known for its apples and pears.

There are several growers out in the eastern part of the state.

Iron bridges.

Irrigation keeps the orchard green.

Iron bridges over the Yakima River.

And up and over

Manastash Pass.

Down down into the rich green valley.

Ellensburgh is home to the fair and rodeo each Labor Day.

Stone fountains!

They have been doing this fair for so long; look at the old signs.

We have arrived where we will spend the next four days.

Rodeo time!

And is that the RedHead Express van pulling in at stage one!!
