The with Connie and Bud

Bud has a fishing boat he got last season and we were going for a ride!!

We brought Duffy along with us! Yes, Kathy had her life vest on.

Bud showed her how he could see the water depth and pointed out this and that while she held on real tight.

The telephone lines mark where the old bridge once stood

Today there is a new causeway that connects South Padre Island to the main land

People pay big money to out fishing in the Laguna Madre Bay and the Gulf of Mexico

You can see by the color of the water the Laguna Madre is not very deep; just a few feet in some places!

There are some great houses along the shore on the Island

Marinas with fishing boats, and jet skis for rent

There are eateries too.

Most houses have their own docks

Our friends live in that green on there!

Loved seeing the birds

And the fish

The best was the company

After stopping for a snack we headed back

Duffy likes being captain!

Back under the causeway

Heading back in now

Michell caught a fish!

They were out collecting dinner

A moth got a ride with Will

Time to bring the boat out of the water

Connie does the truck work

Off we go back to Connie and Bud's

We drove past the beach area

Bud taking care of his boat

After it was washed off Bud made us onion rings; So sweet!

The Bud used a tried and true recipe for flouring these red snapper throats, a delicacy we were told.

The did look good

Meanwhile Duffy got a little exercise

And dinner was served.  The Red Snapper throats were very tender and moist and had that smooth taste of fresh fish.

We ended the evening with a few rounds of a card game called 99.  Thanks Connie and Bud for a most enjoyable day.  See you at Harley's.
