Time in Branson, Missouri
October 23,2008
We met Kandy for breakfast at Uptown Café, an oldtime diner establishment. We had thought we would be talking business and had been told there would be a manager there too, but it turned out to be just breakfast with Kandy. We shared stories and travel adventures, exchanged phone numbers and headed our separate directions.
We drove over to the new Waldorf where we met up with Bob and Mary. We sat in their rig for a few hours catching up, got organized for the afternoon and headed out. We arrived at the Hughes American Family Theater along with a long line of others and made our way inside.
SIX, aka The Knudsen Bothers, is a spectacular group filled with powerhouse vocals and high-octane energy that use only their own voices as entertainment. Their harmonies, vocal range, rhythms and singing make you think there is a full band behind them. Owen, Lynn, Kevin, Barry, Curtis and Jak are just SIX of ten brothers born across the states. Between them they have over 20 children! Their mom past away in 1992; Dad was in the audience. We are glad Dad insisted they spend so much time practicing when they were young. Their stage background spans two decades. Look them up at http://www.thesix.com/.
Between shows we drove down to the Landing and checked out the Scenic Railway-Ozark Zephyr. They offer a 40-mile round trip excursion through the Ozark foothills.
Liverpool Legends was the ultimate Beatles experience. Grace, George’s sister, has put together this group of young men who look and act like their counterparts. If you really like Beatles music you didn’t even have to close your eye to imagine you were sitting in one of their early concerts with young girls swooning and yelling. If you come to Branson, make sure to see the Liverpool Legends at the Starlite Theater or look them up at http://www.liverpoolegends.com/.
