Grand Crowne Resorts in Branson, Missouri

October 22, 2008
We woke, got a donut from the main office area and made coffee in our room. We enjoyed our start to the day with a little more TV time then headed over to the Surrey Resort Reception Center for our presentation. That is where we met Kandy Baars. She got us some coffee and a bagel then, led us to a room filled with little round tables. At each table was a couple with their personal presenter. Kandy chatted with us for about an hour; Kandy is enthusiastic with a lot of good stories and some interesting life experiences. We liked her from the minute she said, "hello". After the chitchat, we got down to business- time share business. We talked about another hour. Then, Kandy showed us three different condos ranging from one-room models to huge luxury models. Next, we headed back to our little table and talked dollars and sense. We got down to the final decision when the deal breaker came-do it now or we take the $4000 travel club deal off the table. Well, we don’t do so well with deal breakers, we need time to mull things over, talk a bit and so we were ready to walk. Jeff came over and gave us the bottom line offer and walked away giving us a few minutes to talk. It really was a good deal for us; we just couldn’t pass it up. We liked the idea from the start actually, and we liked Kandy, she had given us lots of information and she would be our representative. SOOOO: We are now the proud owners of one-week of timeshare with Grand Crowne Resorts. We didn’t just purchase a vacation home in Branson, Missouri (for one week), but a ticket to the world! It seems like a smart choice with our plans to travel once a year on a vacation away from the Roadtrek because we can enjoy the fine amenities of a resort for a week.

It was 5pm when all the paperwork was completed. The biggest negative of the day was that we were starved. We had not been offered anything to eat after our morning coffee/bagel. We felt captured because all the deals are off the table if you left so we hadn't eaten all day.

We drove to the Landing, an area along the river that is filled with shops and eateries. We ate at Famous Dave’s. Mostly we ate there because Stevie, Kathy’s nephew, use to work at the one in Pittsburgh. We had a big strip of ribs, yum. Then we walked down and checked out the lightshow. It was just starting to rain when the show began. There is a grand fountain in the middle of the Landing and at night at 7pm lights and billows of fire add to the water display put to music.

We walked back up through the Landing trying to stay under awnings to keep a little dry. We dipped into a few shops the last was the Bass Pro Shop. Then we headed to the Waldorf.

Congrats on your vacation purchase? Can you travel to any resort or is there a specific list you choose from? Can you pass on your purchase in your will?

Kathy - you look very rested and your hair color is great!

The Famous Dave's in Pittsburgh didn't work out - they closed about a month ago - not so good management I think. They are remodeling and will open under another name is the rumor.

Take Care !
