Woke in Luckenbach, Walked in Fredericksburg, Went back to Luckenbach

March 28, 2007
We woke to the call of roosters. Vehicles were pulling in to the legendary town of Luckenbach since seven this morning. Candace Kunz (She has a CD out and does graphic design for many other artists; she is known as the “Sweetheart of Luckenbach”.) and Danny were at the Luckenbach bar sipping coffee when we walked in. We had a nice chat catching up a bit on family and careers. Candace and T-Roy are going on the road with their music lining up gigs all over the state. Danny’s grandson has only two valves in his heart instead of three and may need an operation. His two year old great grandnephew has lukema-please keep these two young boys in your prayers. We hung our Van Go cap on the light in an effort to stay at Luckenbach forever and drove off to Fredericksburg. Ladybird Johnson Park is just west of town. The nature walk is a work in progress but we saw lots of critters-turtles, raccoon prints, butterflies, hummingbird, chickadee, chased off two cats in the birding area, Will fixed back window while we were there in hopes of keeping more rain water from getting in. Back in town we walked the shops, snacked at Rustlin Rob’s, and got back in the Roadtrek as the shops were closing up for the night. Tonight Cowboy Doug was hosting at Luckenbach. He was joined by some pickers and jammers. We were so happy to see Annie and Shan; they have been very busy putting together their own CD. We found out that Annie is a graphic designer and photographer and is doing their CD cover. The CD is due out in April. We stayed listening to Cowboy Doug, Kimbo, Porfi and others til they were all played out.
