Mostly sitting around, reading, working puzzles, cleaning a bit here and there, sorting out paperwork, spending time here in cold Pittsburgh. Will's Mother went in for a physical; she needed it to keep her license. The doctor found a breast lump. The day Kathy left for Hawaii she had it biopsied; it is cancer. Today we went and talked with the surgeon. She will have the 1.7cm tumor removed on January 31st; say a prayer. In the meanwhile we are mostly sitting around, reading, working puzzles...Will is into playing Fate, a computer adventure game.

Sitting in the Coranodo National Forest

November 17, 2006 Kathy didn’t feel well today; Will made her some hot coffee. We spent the morning relaxed inside with the heater on and sipping hot coffee. Kathy read her adventure fantasy book and Will worked his cross numbers puzzles. The sun came over the mountain and warmed the air and brightened the day. We went for a walk the forest road and found that there was water in the creek further up. A Chiricahau Red Squirrel ran up a tree; he has a great bushy tail. Back at camp we had breakfast and settled in playing cards, reading, puzzling and resting. Will worked on printing Christmas cards. Kathy cleaned a pomegranate thinking it would help her feel better. We sat and watched the birds, listened to the bees and flies, and played some cards. Kathy took a nap. It was a good day for hanging out in the woods. Will made Kathy some vegetable soup that was yummy. She was starting to feel better. We watched Lord of the Rings Twin Towers.

February 24, 2007 We crossed the Rio Grande Stepped on to a foriegn land In the country of Mexico At Nuevo Progreso City streets were a billowing blanket of cars and of trucks Sidewalks were a crawling carpet of tourists moving like ducks We dined on Corona and sincronizadas in Hay Jalisco Souvineers we picked up all along the way cost us only a few peso Across the International Bridge we walked Looked down to the Rio Grande as we talked Back on US soil we are happy to arrive Oh indeed, "Today is a good day to drive"
