Kathy celebrated her "speed limit" birthday today. She made pancakes for breakfast. Then she felt like cleaning so washed down the kitchen cupboards and scrubbed the kitchen floor. Will ran the sweeper. We watched glimpses of Good Morning America and the morning passed. We loaded up the van and met Maria and Cliff at the Forest River dock where they keep their boat. We motored out to Moose Island and set the anchor. A great blue heron flew overhead. A Kingfisher flew across the water and threw the trees. Ice cold bloody mary's with Russian Putikin vodka was used for a birthday toast. Cliff used his new suction cups and worked his way around the boat wiping it clean; he had just powerwashed it the day before so it was pretty clean. Maria floated. We heard the story of another time when she was floating and the current took her! Cliff had to throw her a rope. Will and Kathy sat enjoying the rocking of the boat, the view of the river and the music. Cliff likes his music. Somet! imes Maria and Kathy sang along or did a little dancing. Justin called to wish his Mom a Happy Birhday. Sitting down in the cabin where it was cooler than sitting in the sun, we played yatzee.

Cliff grilled steaks and corn on the cob. Maria served baby cupcakes for desert. Kathy showed Maria how VanGo does dishes with two bowls to save water. After we cleaned up we started back toward the dock. The raft rope was wrapped around something, maybe the prop. Maria jumped in the water and tried to free it. The first attempt was unsuccessful, but we found it was not around the prop so motored to more open water. As we went Maria's mat blew overboard. She tried to get it with a long stick, but ended up diving into the water to retrieve it. While in the water she went under the boat to see what the rope was attached to. It was the trim bars. She didn't think she got it undone, but once on board and we got moving the rope was free. Kathy pulled it in. Cliff got us up on plane and we! zipped along the water spreading waves out to the shores. We went up to the dam and back to the dock in record time! We helped secure the boat and had a buggy full of stuff to go ashore. At our vehicles we had hugs all around and headed our separate ways.Back at Jayne's we unloaded the roadtrek and watched some TV. Kathy was a year older when she went to bed.
