290 Stops Two

Our third stop was Grape Creek Vineyards, Tuscany in Texas.

On the 290 Wine Road is winery has over 200 medals for best wines from San Francisco to New York.

It is a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

It is very expansive and well manicured.

There are two tasting rooms; this one was closed.

Gotta love blue bottles.

There are displays everywhere.

Wine tasting stations.

Award winning wines.

Loved the arched doors.

They have a section where you can get cheese and crackers to enjoy with your wine.

These acrylic glasses sell for $5.

They have olive oils too.

And regular glassware.

Lots of awards.

And you can head in lots of directions from here.

There is a restaurant on the premises

You can enjoy sitting inside sipping and eating.

Or you can sit outside.  Most of the winery we found have members only areas; the upper area is such an are.

Can you find the gecko?

There are lots of vines to enjoy looking at.

There is one of the little critters that eat up all the little bugs.

Grape Creek Vineyards is a wine club winery. We are designed for the enjoyment of our club members. Of course, we welcome new guests to taste and tour and decide if they want to join as well. We also believe wine is a pleasure, and not a party.

Fourth on our list is Torre di Pietra, Romance of Tuscany, Wines of Texas

They are committed to the highest standards int he vineyards and winery to ensure that the best quality wines are available.

Great entrance.

Relaxing piazza

and patio.

Kathy's favorite spot.

Wine displays

There is something about those that drink wine.

There are items for sale

as well as the wines of course.

And the different kinds are everywhere to see.

Tasting is the thing to do.  You pay anywhere from $12-20 for 6 samples of wine we found in our travels.

Lots of glasses.

Loved that they planted roses at the end of each row.

Roses were everywhere and it was beautiful.

This would be a pretty area to relax when the vines grow out.

So pretty this time of year with the roses blooming.

This is an older winery that needs some attention to the weeds and trim outside.

They too have live music from time to time and it a good place to just relax.  “We are very glad to be able to provide this service to our customers” said Ken Maxwell owner of Torre di Pietra VineyardsTorre di Pietra Vineyards and Winery is located ten miles east of Fredericksburg, Texas on US Hwy 290.

Located in the Texas Hill Country between Fredericksburg and Stonewall, Becker Vineyards was established in 1992 by Richard and Bunny Becker
It is a little of the road, but worth the drive back for the view.

Each vintage wine is aged in oak barrels and stored in an underground cellar.

The bar as you enter is amazing.  No one greeted us.  For that matter not one person spoke to us at all.

They have neat pictures on the lables.

There are lots of award winning wines.

They even won a saddle!

There is a large oval shaped tasting bar.

and lots of wines

Really liked the displays

Great tree mural; too bad that shelf is there.

2018 award wines proudly displayed.

Cozy sitting areas.

Nice place for a group.

There is an event center.

They need to clean out the water tower before it is destroyed.

What a neat idea for planting; people or groups planted rows and they put plaques on them.

See who planted this row!

They also have lavender and there is a festival each May.

They are getting ready.

You can sit outside and enjoy the view while sipping your wine.

There is a restored 1880 log cabin you can sit beside.

Or you can sit on the porch.

Loved the old wine press.  Reminded Kathy of making wine with her Dad.

There is a building for members

They to have a porch to sit on.

Or they can go inside and stand around barrels.

The wine must be in that long building sitting in barrels waiting for just the right moment to bring out.

The yellow rose of Texas.
