Will's Birthday

Image
After breakfast at Manuel's in Port Isabel we drove to South Padre Island and walked about the World Birding Center with Adrienne and helped Ryan in the store, then we drove to the end of the island and walked out to the jetty.                     There was lots of fishing going on.     We saw a group of stingray....wonder what a group of them is called?  I looked it up.... a fever of stingray!

Joined by friends Will officially turns another year older.     There were cards and presents, laughter and chatter, and                 Great food!  Yes, Will finally put his new Ipad down to eat.     Adrienne made the most scrumptious brownies and Will blew out his candle!     A great start to the day.  Happy Birthday, Will.

A walk

Image
Well, it started off when the Zumba instructor couldn't make class so we ladies decided to take a walk to keep up our exercise.  We took a detour to see the new puppies under the shed.  The Momma dog would come to Harleys and Sandy would feed her every day; we would greet her too and give her treats so she likes us.  The pups are little balls of fur in good health so we left them where they were and started off on our walk.  Three dogs joined us as we passed Harley's, Clide, the bar dog and two others, a lab and a husky.  We walked and they stayed with us checking the sides for good smells.     Sandy said she recognized the two dogs and knew where they lived so on our way back to Harley's we detoured a second time to bring the dogs home.  We arrived at the house and the three of us ladies stayed near the mail box, the dogs continued up the street, and Sandy when to the door.  She knocked.  A child opened the door and screamed out, "Mamma...

Bud has a fishing boat he got last season and we were going for a ride!!             We brought Duffy along with us! Yes, Kathy had her life vest on.     Bud showed her how he could see the water depth and pointed out this and that while she held on real tight.     The telephone lines mark where the old bridge once stood     Today there is a new causeway that connects South Padre Island to the main land     People pay big money to out fishing in the Laguna Madre Bay and the Gulf of Mexico     You can see by the color of the water the Laguna Madre is not very deep; just a few feet in some places!     There are some great houses along the shore on the Island     Marinas with fishing boats, and jet skis for rent     There are eateries too.     Most houses have their own docks             Our friends live in that green on there!     ...
