Joker

December 14, 2007

After working on the MR2 and preparing for departure to Pittsburgh we drove over to Mary’s. Kathy gave her a Boone National Forest pinecone with tiny shells from Ocean City, Maryland decorating it and a string of beads to bring out some color. She also passed along Billy Graham’s Angel book. Mary made us each a fruit smoothie which we enjoyed while sitting on the porch playing Joker. Today we learned two new rules: jumping to the center and playing your team member’s hand. We got to be okay players. Mary and Bob treated us to a yummy dinner; she made a really tasty squash that they brought from MI where Dee and Rich grow prize veggies. After dinner the games began. We played with Joy and Gene making it a round of 6 for Joker. It is definitely more confusing playing with six and with the new rule of playing for your team (we played girls vs guys) of three it was quick and challenging to keep up. We played in the game room of the park where others sat at tables playing cards and another group also played Joker. The games went round and round. It was Kathy’s bedtime when we left. We gave Mary our little pine trees to babysit along with Connie’s plants til we return. Thanks for a fun night Mary and Bob! We feel like real Jokers now!
