Sister Trip

We started early Friday morning at IHOP with pumpkin pancakes.  Then we took off on our adventure.  We drove to Newell, WV to the Fiesta Ware china factory and took a tour to see how the china is made.  The most fascinating part of watching the process from dry dust to finished china was how they applied the decals and colored circles to the plates.  It is all done by hand! We stopped along the Ohio River to enjoy the view; the trees are starting to change colors. We saw the world's largest tea pot!  Our destination was Steubenville, OH.  There is a fort there, antique shops, murals, and an Italian Restaurant, Napels where we enjoyed a meal and reminisced  about our trip to Italy last summer.  The first smiley face cookies were baked here and still are at the local bakery.  Dean Martin was born in Steubenville. We did an overnight at Bayberry House B&B ( See next post) then headed back home for dinner at Carmine's.  Kathy and Will cooked up the last of their mackerel and the homegrown potatoes from the Hummel's garden.  We made hand print tiles and gave lots of hugs.  Maria and Cliff are moving to Florida in two weeks and we are off west and to Hawaii.  We will all meet back here in about six weeks for Cookie Day.
