"Today is a Good Day to Drive!" .....Van-Go

Bella's in the Bethel Park was where we took Carmine and her friend, Terri to celebrate Carmine's birthday. What a fun place; there is a room with hats if you choose to wear one; Kathy tried on several. Such a pretty elegant place. Look at that ceiling! Never under estimate the power of my sister. She has lived the most charmed life of anyone I know. She is a strong proud woman. She is my big sister.   She was born first.   She has had to go through things first. But this, this cancer has been a challenge. It came out of nowhere and hit hard and fast. And yet, my big sister has continued to show me how to live a charmed life.  She stands tall even when her body is weak, she is hurting, and pain shoots through her very core. Her hair is gone,but no matter. She shines and projects positive thoughts and courage. She manages to smile, offer a kind word and even cracks up those around her with a comment all with so much going on inside her.  She has come so far, and has not looked back. She may not be where she wants to be, but neither is she where she used to be. She now stands firm even though her legs are still weak. Kathy got her hair cut and it is straight too. She helped her sister organize drawers, sort out this and that, made meals and just enjoyed sister time. Sueann's friend, Barb stopped over with pumpkin cookies and a rootbeer so we had a party! Laney stopped by with her daughter and new baby. Will enjoyed going to the Science Center to meet up with his daughter and three of the grandkids to celebrate Taryn's birthday.

Sueann keeps an amazing garden with beds all around her house.  Here is just a little snippet.

Walking around the woods behind Kathy's sister's we found some pretty big trees. This was one big oak tree. Brian and Steven much have enjoyed these woods growing up; there were so many paths and crisscross paths. See more big trees. And some really big trees that were cut down; so sad. The honey bees like Carmine's flowers. Can you see the chipmunk on the seat; he was protecting his territory from another one that would from time to time try to run through. And oh the commotion he would make! Kathy joined Carmine and Robert at Olive Garden visiting  with some former Bible Study friends. Carmine can be seen through the beautiful sun flowers doing some grilling. Carmine makes the best chipped ham sandwiches! We took a drive one day to Mount Washington.
