Cruise Day Four
Day four and we are headed in to Belize City Port, the gateway to a tropical wonderland. It was in the 1700 that it was founded by former pirates. British buccaneers decided it was more lucrative to harvest lumber out of Belize's wooded interior. With topical hardwood in demand, the town grew rapidly. Thousands of slaves were brought in to float the logs and load ships. The European population also grew and the two groups and their dependents mixed creating the Creole culture prevalent today. A frigate flying around the ship. The flags were being hoisted as we pulled into port. We enjoyed breakfast watching the fishermen with their nets. We spent the morning at the pool enjoying the tropical sunshine.
