Day four and we are headed in to Belize City Port, the gateway to a tropical wonderland. It was in the 1700 that it was founded by former pirates. British buccaneers decided it was more lucrative to harvest lumber out of Belize's wooded interior. With topical hardwood in demand, the town grew rapidly. Thousands of slaves were brought in to float the logs and load ships. The European population also grew and the two groups and their dependents mixed creating the Creole culture prevalent today.

The flags were being hoisted as we pulled into port.
We enjoyed breakfast watching
the fishermen with their nets.
We spent the morning at the pool enjoying the tropical sunshine.
As everyone was hurrying off the ship to catch a tender for the 30 minute tender ride to the dock and then headed to bus or boat rides to various points including the Chacchoben ruins or to buy jewelry, we had the place to ourselves.
This is the tenders that would take passengers from the ship to the docks a short ride away; the water at the docks is too shallow for our big ship.

We are now at the dock whee we walked around a bit.
We explored Fort Street Village docks, very commercial and high priced.
On the ship they tell you to look for Red Shoe shopping as it is promoted by the ship and if you had to return anything it can be done aboard.
The girls were playing dolls; so cute.
It was very pretty.
There was suppose to be wifi, but it didn't seem to work.
See the samples of all the rainforest woods; we bought ourselves a small cutting board with most of these.
Then we found a nice spot to enjoy a beer before we went back to the ship.

Once again we enjoyed a very nice meal in the dining room. By now our two waiters know just how we like things; Kathy gets her lemon slices right away with her water, no ice. Will gets two cheese rolls;
And Kathy likes the pumpkin seed rolls.
Desert is served with coffee, black. They know what we like so we don't have to even mention it.
We went out and watched the moon rise.
The show tonight was Eric August, who is usually in the Piano bar each evening.
We headed to our stateroom passing on the 50's 60's Rock'n Roll party, Karaoke, and Royal Poker at the casino.
