Driving around Kapolie

Image
We dropped Justin off at the airport; he has a conference in Las Vegas for a few days. And we decided to just drive around the area. We found a chain fence. We found a small airport. And a museum, but it was closed. They must have had a prescribed burn in the area. We found where you can have a paintball fight. Solar panels were behind wire fences. There is a large ditch being put in along a back road. Not sure what they do back there. So the new ditch is being put in all along the fence line and behind us is that chemical plant. More solar panels. and you can see the burn was prescribed as it stopped before damaging the panels. The was a big construction area. It was right beside the little airport. There was an elementary school out here. At the end of the road we found a fence with flowers; not sure why, but it looked festive. We left the drizzle of the rains iand drove out to KoOlina and found the sun. The drive to the resorts is lined with big old trees. We parked in the public parking; when they built the resorts it was mandated that they must have areas for the public to park and use the lagoons.   The view here along the ocean is breathtaking. The flowers are being pollenated. The flowers are all so pretty. We went to the Mariott Resort where we had stayed 4 years in a row, but we unable to get a timeshare exchange this year.    Paula remembered us as did Tina who you will see later. This is the wall of the main stairs leading to the driveway entrance down to the main lawn. This is the Disney Resort. And here is Tina giving an orientation talk. She invited us to stay even though we are not guests this year. They are getting ready for the Fia Fia tomorrow night and want to give the  people a little hint of what they will see. He is getting ready for the preformance. Fist they tell of the importance of th

Drive Around

It was a rainy day; it is the rainy season.  We decided to drive around to get pineapple ice cream. The fan palms are so pretty. The sky would look like it was going to clear, but never really did. The pine trees of Oahu are very interesting. A covered bridge! We arrived at the Dole Plantation. After looking around a few minutes we ordered our pineapple ice creams and sat outside because it was much warmer than sitting inside with the air conditioning. We watched the train; there were not many people around since it was cold and rainy. We found another place next door that was closed. The Helemano Plantation.  We will have to stop next trip It looked very inviting. Off we go again continuing around the island. There are mountains. There are fields and steep valleys. They are once again growing pineapples on the island. Thos pine trees  help break up the winds that come with the rainy weather. You can see down to the ocean. We continue our drive on route 83 around the island. This is no
