Communication

If you would like to communicate with us or ask questions feel free to text us at 412-336-5520. That is our only way to stay in touch. And it works great. Even out in the big bays we have service! We don't answer the phone so no calls. We don't have wifi so no Facebook or emails. Look forward to hearing from you. Hugs

A big thank you to the construction guys and to the Harbor Master

will fixing the lines. docked on the wall entering Gaspe Harbor this was the rain coming in to the harbor. will emptied our reserve fuel in the tank then got all the hugs refilled. coming in at the pier. We docked behind the coast guard ship v these guys were the best!! How very helpful to take Will to get fuel and to help us out it aboard. Three cheers. the harbor master was very friendly. He said it would be okay to stay the night. the dark clouds rolled in and it did rain as we entered the harbor. But as we found the Terminal Pier all was over. Kathy took the helm a few times today. She does pretty good staying on course except when a wave its and we start rocking. That is just scary!! Tomorrow we go around the point and into the St Lawrence Seaway.

We made it to Gaspe

It was a long way in the harbor but we mad it before the fog. We did caught in a little rain, but by the time we were docking at the terminal pier. Some really nice construction guys helped us out by taking Will and our diesel cans to the gas station. And then they even helped put them aboard. It is so wonderful when we run across friendly people. Looking forward to seeing them in the morning before we pull out. Enjoyed dinner, a game of scrabble and a movie before bed. This adventure is getting a little easier, but for Kathy it is still very scary. It is only our ninth day out and look how far we have come!!

Watched as the fishing boats started their daily chores and comings and goings. The fog lifted and we decided it was time to go. Out into the ocean. We didn't stop at Chandler. Decided to keep going toward Pierce. The swells are about four foot and we are rocking and rolling pretty good. Will tied his seat so it would move all around. Kathy pretty much holds on to her seat board. See the yellow rope under the seat tied off to a hook. The red you see on the wall under his feet is a special knife for cutting rope if you get in a danger situation with a rope caught. That is Kathy holding in. The plugs are all connected to the engine batteries and charging computer iPad and phone, when it is not in Kathy's hand. Lots of fishing boats out. Fog is mostly gone now. A slight overcast low in the sky and sun shining bright b

We installed the new wiper blade; now it can rain and Kathy won't have to climb on the bow and wipe off the rain drops so we can see.   The weather looks clear so we decided to go.  We are going to go across Chaleur Bay, about a four hour trip.   Here is Compass ready to go. And Will is at the helm. We were docked in the commercial fishing pier; see the big crab fishing ship. We had spent yesterday and this morning watching as they work on the new jetty.  Now we are passing out through.  See the black and white flag; it means there is a diver down. The green buoy is on our right as we depart the harbor and head out to sea. On the map you can see the red star for Shippagan.  The road going across the water there is where the drawbridge was; we had been grounded on the front side of that road for a day.  Then we passed through the drawbridge and spent a night at the commercial marina. There are lots of lobster boats out checking their traps and hauling i...
