Christmas Morning with Nicole and Kids

We had a cup of coffee at the Ramada Inn bright and early Christmas Morning.
A quick picture before we checked out and off we went to Nicole's.

Oh my goodness, a flock of ring-necked pheasants. There were about 50 of them spread in the field.

Everyone picked a spot and gifts were passed around.







Nani made this bowl for her mom.





Poob gave his Seven Springs' ski jacket to Nani who wants to learn to ski.







Arwen got the wood knots we had collected when we worked on the Ship Hector.











Wow there were lots of presents!

Now time to play and enjoy them.

Arwen and Kathy went in the kitchen and

got the cinnamon rolls ready.

And they went fast!

Arwen enjoyed her first cinnamon roll; we do them every Christmas morning.

They were almost gone when

Nathan's daughter, Emma arrived.

The girls loved opening gifts together.

Dad and daughter.

He gave her his guitar that he got when he was 12; a Yamaha!  Emma was excited and strummed it a bit.

Dad and daughter had a few moments in the kitchen.

And the family was off to visit the other grandparents and we were off to Sueann's.

Pandemic

 This has been a strange year. We arrived in Florida in March and have stayed home since. That is about 6 months now. The Covid-19 virus has set the world to be a different place with stay at home orders, restaurants and bars closed, shelves in the grocery stores empty of toilet paper and antiseptic good, virtual school and doctor visits, hospitals that don’t let visitors enter and no only emergency care, wearing a mask when you are in public and people staying six feet apart. Who knows what the new world will be like after this.

Cliff married my little sister, Maria and became part of our family. We traveled to Italy together one summer Cliff had the coolest Man Cave! He really enjoyed technology and used it at work, home and helped everyone enjoy theirs too. He bought a boat that he and my sister enjoyed for many years. He walked his daughter down the isle. And welcomed Travis into his family. Not long after Layla was born and he became a very proud Pap Pap. He and my sister retired to Florida. Where Cliff learned to golf. One of my best memories are of our Cookie Days together. Cliff worked at Lowes and enjoyed his job in the paint department. He got sick; he found out he had stage 4-bladder cancer. We went on our traditional breakfast together each time we got together over the years. He finished the first round of chemo treatments. But the cancer went into his bones.
