Deer Island Ferry to New Brunswick Canada

We took the Deer Island Ferry, drove around to the other side of Deer Island and sat relaxing a while.  This is the next ferry across to New Brunswick.  It is a steep down on to the ferry so we sat contemplating how we were going to do that.  But in the end we just scraped a little getting on.

It is about a 20 minute ride to the mainland.  Not much to see in the foggy mist.

This is the climb into Canda mainland.

We stopped for the night at the ferry crossing.

This morning we continued on our trip toward Pictou, Nova Scotia.

the Musquash Estuary has an amazing waterfall.

Hard to see from this angle and the mist, but very impressive.

We found a nice pink lupine blooming.

And this unique pine tree with the soft green needles.

The roads have gotten a lot better since our last time here; we took an interstate!.  We arrived at St. John where there are the Reversing Falls.

Below in the mist and fog you can make out the water churning as the tides change the falls reverse in direction, thus the name.

This the the bridge across the falls.

Which way to go?

We are in Canada now where the price of gas is by the liter not the gallon!!  We will continue to try to find wifi hotspots to send blogs and emails.  So send us an email for our next stop and let us know what you are doing.
