France Trip-Marlenheim Wines

The wine cellars of Marlenheim's winegrowers are always the right temperature to taste Alsatian wines: After looking a few wineries we picked Mosbach and entered the Cave, wine cellar. Mosbach is a small winery and our host, Paul is fifth generation. He gave us a grand tour of the cave:  We were at a slight disadvantage not speaking French, but we got the general idea as he pointed things out. Olga and Igor have planned this trip for two years and were here to taste the wines and were not disappointed.Paul brought out lots of bottles and glasses for all.He carefully poured a sample of each wine. There was a cup for spitting out if you chose just to taste, but sipping each was very enjoyable. Not understanding what he said about each one, we sampled each and came to our own conclusions. We enjoyed the Riesling best. Kathy was fascinated with the Mirabella, a plum wine liquor; strong but smooth.  Olga and Igor bought not only wine but a set of wine glasses too.We left the Mosbach Winery feeling good.

Update: morning started early with vitals checked every four hours, bloodwork ( interesting side note: you are given an IV port in the emergency room, but that port is not used to retrieve blood for any of the various tests once you are admitted. Instead someone comes and draws blood through a new prick hole each time. ).    I started taking a new pill, Imdur, that helps keep the arteries open. Meals In Hawaii

I would say we ate well when we were with Justin in Hawaii in May/June! Yea, I know, Coffee isn't a meal. But coffee is a good way to start the day! Enjoyed a beer from time to time. Red wine is good with a meal too. But mostly we have water with meals; Will likes a squirt of sweet lemon in his.

Pandemic

 This has been a strange year. We arrived in Florida in March and have stayed home since. That is about 6 months now. The Covid-19 virus has set the world to be a different place with stay at home orders, restaurants and bars closed, shelves in the grocery stores empty of toilet paper and antiseptic good, virtual school and doctor visits, hospitals that don’t let visitors enter and no only emergency care, wearing a mask when you are in public and people staying six feet apart. Who knows what the new world will be like after this.
