Thanksgiving Day

November 27, 2008

We left the beach behind and headed over to Mary and Bob's. The men sat having "men talk" and enjoyed Connie's before dinner treats. And the ladies moved to the kitchen. Evelyn, Mary's Mom, had all the fixings prepared including pecan pie. Mary carved up the turkey. We sat together enjoying the meal thankful that we have such wonderful friends. After dinner we played one game with three dice with the letters C for center, L for left, R for right and a dot meaning keep. Everyone lays three quarters on the table and then the action begins. The quarters move around the table and into the center where the pile adds up. The last person with a quarter gets the pile. We played a game with three decks of cards before we enjoyed desert. Connie had made a pumpkin roll with rum whipped filling; Evelyn made a pecan roll with creamcheese filling and the best pumpkin crumble ever. Bud said she won best desert three years in a row with that one! It was really good. We took a walk around Paradise Park exploring the pool, library, game room and rows and rows of mobile homes andRV's. A bit more chit and a little more chat and it was past Kathy's bed time.... We headed for the local Waldorf.

Justin called and shared what he did!

Thought I would cook.... We'll see how it turns out.65: Went shopping...66: What I got to cook with...67: The tray was a little big...68: All the food...69: Stuffing, gotta have it...70: Turkey, stuffed, buttered...71: It has a rear end...72: It fit!!!73: Well, not all of it...74: Sweet Potatoes...I have mashed potatoes to but haven't started cooking them yet, theyare instant and last minuet. The turkey is a breast & stuff type ofthing, not a whole turkey. It was a little big for the little toasterover. I had to snip off some of the ribs and stuff to make it fit. Ikept them all and froze them. Will make a nice little dinner later inthe week. I'll ad pictures of potatoes and finished turkey. I'm notreally sure how it will turn out in the little oven. The top of theturkey is touching to top of the oven so it might be a tad over done, but maybe not. Its 2 hours to cook in a stove, I'll check it in 2 butI think it may take longer. It has a pop-up "im done" thing in it so it'll be safe when I eat it.Happy turkey day.Love you.
