Kimball's Babe Day Nine

Will is working on the box/stool for the pilot house; it will be great for storage too.  He has a great table to work on too! Bill and Linda gave us this great old box that Gordon had made so we are painting it up.  It fits nicely under the shelf in the pilot house; wonder what we will keep in there?  The spot out on the hull that was once a big hole is now ready to paint. That box is coming along nicely. Time for a break and have some lunch.  Today we had turkey sausage with fried butternut squash.   Will painted the red stripe around the hull.   We had some company, Gail, Raymond and Duke stopped by. Will has the hull white all painted and the red strip too. But when he started to paint the anti fouling on there was a problem…a big problem.  We were told we could add paint thinner, but not to use Cobra Brand as it turns the color purple.  We we got Home Brand and it turned the color purple too!!  What to do. What to do.  ...

Tidbits are a favorite treat we get from Tim Horton's. Tim Horton's is the stop everyone makes and we found some friends getting their morning coffee.  My goodness has Duke grown!  It was fun catching up a bit. The blossoms have popped out everywhere.  Spring is in the air! Will sat designing the pilot house sitting are. Kathy went through he piles of stuff in the salon. We left the boat a bit early and headed to New Glasgow to do some shopping. As you drive across the causeway you see the paper mill is still putting out lots of toxins, the cormorants are still nesting on the pillars and the fish are still jumping. We are looking for a pad for the bed area, finally went with a blowup mattress and will see how that works, we got solar panels that were on sale at Canadian Tire and lots of fun things. Heading back to Pictou. See how organized the salon looks! The pilot house is going to get a box where that stool is for storage and so Kathy's feet don't hang down since the...

The hull is looking good above the water line! We had visitors at the boat today. We told David about the huge hole in the sand and he walked right up to it and peeked in!  We thought a giant whatever was going to come out and get him, but nothing did.  Wonder what lives in that hole; there is a smaller hole around the side, like a back door. Will lis still working on that big hole.  The epoxy and wood chips filled in the hole nicely and he added some putty to smooth it out after sanding it.  Now waiting for the putty to dry so he can sand that and then paint it.. More visitors today!  Manny celebrated his first birthday with us last season on the boat.  His grandparents brought him round to see it  out of the water.   Look what Will found!!  We are so lucky!! After painting touch ups in the v-berth and head, Kathy is always finding some little thing to touch up, she climbed out on the bow and started painting around the windows.  B...

Remember this hole in the hull where Will dug out the rotten wood.   You can see the nail there and the rotten wood all around it.  It is that area Will was going to repair today.   Kathy meanwhile finished up the v-berth and the head and the electric locker. Today is Saturday so Kathy make a nice breakfast of french toast, with a slice of brie cheese and a dob of raspberry for color. See our pretty flowers are blooming too! We have a nice place to sit and relax so come on out for a visit before we go in the water.   We started on the pilot house.  Will was trying to get a very sticky area cleaned using some Goo Begone, but it was not working.  Kathy wiped everything down with Lysol and was starting to paint. Everything is piled in the salon till the paint dries and it goes back to where it belongs or gets pitched out. Okey back to that hole int he deck.  Will filled it with epoxy and wood chips.  He has to sand it down and put a coat of...
