"Today is a Good Day to Drive!" .....Van-Go

Today is a good day to drive!

We had a nice stay with Kathy's sisters and with Nicole and the grandkids.  Time went by so fast and being sick for part of it really shortened the fun.  But we did join the hustle and bustle of the season, made cookies, shopped, had a few meals out and drove the crazy roads of Pittsburgh.  Most of all it was family time that was the best. Maria and Cliff waved and sent out kisses as we left. Kathy had made a wreath from Christmas Trees left behind by the scouts and Will brought it up and placed it on his parents grave.  The tradition started 18 years ago when Kathy made the wreath for the front door, now the Bradley's still get a wreath at the holidays. Next stop was to see Clyde and Arlene, Will's cousin.  They live just up the road from where the house on Beech Road.  It was a nice visit. They had their kids for Christmas and now the house was quiet.  We shared our year's travels with them and ate some of Cyde's homemade cookies.  He was a bake...

Each year the sisters exchange gifts: We pass out gifts we collected all year long on our travels. There are guys and gals gifts. The kids get gifts. Then there are the homemade gifts; Kathy got caramel apples Shawn made. Will got a Steeler blanket that Sueann made. Shawn got the pine needle placemat and cupmat that Will made. Jennifer and Troy made scarfs and pepperment-bark. Brian got the cedar wreath ornament and candycane melt-a-way mints that Kathy made. Brian and Lori made ornaments. "Carmine made a money tree! Maria made crocheted a scarf, Cliff made a JOY light, And all through the house were snacks! White elephant is always a great time! Chit and chat.... The guys hear nothing and say nothing.... But they are good guys! Then came dinner time! Spiral ham and short ribs, scallop potatoes, bussel sprouts, corn bread casserole, salad and soft warm buns. Girls and guys Ho ho ho aother wonderful Christmas with family.
