Ocelot

It was a very hot day and Will was feeling much better so we took a drive to Brownsville to the zoo to see the live ocelot.

Ocelot

We went for a quick visit to the zoo to see the ocelot visiting from the Cincinnati Zoo.

Easter Bunny is playing

Image
This one was easy; now the grandkids will get to a matching game with their eggs after they enjoy their jelly beans. Putting the eggs inside the balloons was a bit of a challenge, but we managed.  Blown up just a little the balloons look sort of like egg shapes. Next step is wrapping the balloons with glue and string.  That will take several days to dry.  Popping the balloons is the fun part and inside the string eggs will be the chocolate!  I'll post that picture later when they dry.  Maybe you want to try to make some.  Have fun playing Easter Bunny this year.

Spring Makeover Time

Image
Spring is in the air and at Harley's that means cleaning and organizing.  Jim and Scott are creating a new look for the back corner of the bar to hide all the storage and kitchen stuff. The stage got a second coat of paint. (Sorry, Bailey your hand prints got covered up this time around.  The order didn't get passed along quickly enough. You will have to redo them on your next visit.) The bathroom floor got a new coat of paint. As did the bar. Jim and Scott were admiring their work along with Rascal.  The walkway was left so Sylvia could get in for the morning and will get painted tonight. Furniture all got a wipedown before being put back into place. And outside the plants are busting out with color. Happy Spring.  Makes you want to get out there and do a makeover!  Go for it!

Morning Walk

Image
They have flooded the orchard; they soak it really good then let it dry out. Look who was out today! Clyde went over to say hello, but I called and he came.  Thank goodness because that would have been a nasty fight.  As it was there was hissing and growling. The little pink flowers are blooming along the road. On our way back Clyde stopped in for a drink; love the reflections. He scared up a flock of birds who were enjoying the new lake. Speaking of birds this young mocking bird stopped to rest on his first flying lessons.

Tomatoes

Image
Several weeks back we bought this little plant.  Will have been good with watering it everyday.  Clyde tries to water it everytime he passes the van; we catch him most of the time, but you can see we still have lots of brown leaves.  Today is the day we are going to each eat a homegrown tomato!!

Mint Candy

Image
Kathy decided to use up the last of her candycanes so went to the bar to get a hammer.  Jim and Scott helped her make dust of those sugary treats. Kathy added the candycane dust to 8oz of cream cheese and a bag of powdered sugar. She dropped little bits onto tinfoil and let them dry.  Then she flattened them down with a fork and let them dry some more turning them to get them dry on both sides. Ready to eat!
