Thirty-Thirst Tourist Appreciation Day Progresso Mexico

Image
March 21, 2009 We arrived at 8am as they were setting up the stages, booths and getting the food cooking. By 10 the street was packed with crowds of people. Many establishment give a little Mexican hat with a small Mexican rug attached. They pin them on for you and we collected many as we roamed the street and establishments. Then we went to Ay Jalisco and enjoyed our favorite restaurant and their food, live music and traditional dancers.

MR2

Image
March 20, 2009 The 1987 MR2 is now Salazar's. And we have our sports car back! We will miss the tee-top, but we have a sunroof and lots of parts of the 1987 car in place on the body of the 1986 which is in really good condition. The 1987 turned 200,000 miles last year; the 1986 has only 84,000 miles so we have a long way to go! Today is a good day to drive!

MR2 on the road again

We took the MR2 for a little road test. The battery died several times and we figured out it needed a new one. After that everything worked fine. We got all the paperwork notorized and are now legal.

March 18, 2009 Kathy spent time helping with Sand Art. Will past on Fish Cone duty to Bob and Mary and we did a little roving watching animals and people and picking up trash. The baby pigmy hippo is getting bigger; he was out today with mom walking around. They went in the water and baby tried to feed underwater. They are entertaining to watch. After "work" we went to an Italian place to celebrate a bit!

St. Patrick's Day at Cobbleheads in Brownsville

We had a fun St. Patrick's day at Cobbleheads in Brownsville after working at the zoo all day. Johnny G played with a blues group; Connie and Bud were there with a crowd from their RV Park. The best was the green beer!
