November 23, 2008 John was happy to see us; so was Lori. We listened to John Harley and the Bayview Bushriders and a few guest muscians. Jason Elsworth is back as fiddler! Andrew on bass, Chet on lead guitar, Jimmy G on Harmonica and Phil on drums. The winter Texans have not arrived in force yet to the crowd was small, but mighty. Listened till the band finished then climbed into the Roadtrek for movie time.

Visiting in Harlingen

November 23, 2008 We arrived in Harlingen and stopped in to see our friends, Mary and Bob and were thrilled to see Connie there too. She looks great! Connie is a breast cancer srvivor. We sat around sharing stories and catching up when Evelyn and Bud arrived. We talked some more and they dissappeared. When they returned they handed out bags of big fresh off the tree grapefruit! Thanks; they are really really good!

Driving

Happy Birthday, Cliff!! Hope you had a great party. Time can start standing still for you now so proudy hang up that clock! November 22, 2008 We are making our way south. We love the drive with so many birds of prey perched on the telephone poles. Our friend, Jessie Brown, could name every one; we just call them hawks. There is a big oil refinery we past and thought gas would be so much cheaper, but it is not under a dollar yet! We made it to a rest area and relaxed a bit them went to the next rest area on 281 and settled in for the night.

November 20, 2008 Speaking of friendship...We headed over to The Bar Bristo in Johnson City and listed to our friends, Shan and Annie. We have to admit we like their music best when they play unplugged, but we like to support them if we can. The Bar Bristo is like a coffee shop with wines instead of coffees; great atmosphere!

Freindship is at the heart of love

November 20, 2008 We said good bye to Luckenbach and went to meet with Walt and JoAnn for lunch. We went to Hondo's. It is owned by a daughter of the Hondo Crouch who started Luckenbach and so there were pictures of him everywhere. The food was good and the company great. We so enjoy being with such wonderful friends. JoAnn was right in time when we returned for a tour of the Roadtrek. The tour lasted about 40 minutes with some "girl talk" thrown in. We continued our visiting til dusk and will have to continue on emails til we pass this way again. Everybody say a little prayer for JoAnn; she has a big operation coming in mid January.
