An afternoon Outing

Image
We finally broke through the vortex holding us at Beech Road! We went to the National Aviary and played with the birds. Stanley and his friends brayed for us. Then we walked around the park and watched the coal trains. We found a Civil War monument in the park and watched people kayaking. We walked up to Community College of Allegheny County campus and walked into Milton Hall. The escalators are funny; they only stop on every other floor so you have to use the steps! On the seventh floor we found a window that looked out over the city by climbing up on a chair. Too bad there is not an overlook up there because the view is very nice. Walking back to the car we found a statue to Armstrong, a man for the working people. We stopped in North Side for a beer and a pastrami sandwich served with sweet potato fries; yum.  It was a nice outing .
