December 28, 2008 Willie's Place is in Carl's Corner, Texas. We stopped and did a little tour. Sirrus has a radio station that broadcasts from there; during the week it is live. There are about three bars; Will was server for a minute. The restaurant should be completed soon. Kathy got up o the main stage and did her act; yes, she has an act! Souveniers are very expensive. Kathy overheard one of the workers offer some kids a kazoo so asked, "Can this big kid have one too?" Now she can accompany Will's performance.

December 28, 2008 With Cowboy Doug Davis We were excited to see old friends and make a few new ones too! Walt told a few new stories! ShAnnie did a few songs around the circle. It was a great Sunday of music!

There are a few new posts so click on "older posts" at the end of the journal. December 2008 The tree is up and we greeted friends here and there wishing everyone a merry and a happy ho ho ho.Met up with Sandy at Simply Delicious in Fox Chapel for breakfast. Had Anna Marie and Bob over for dinner.

December 16, 2008 We found a Christmas Tree, small, but shapely. We remember Aunt Flo every year as we put the angel on the tree. Kathy's neice, Jess joined us for dinner.

December 15, 2008 Damiana is six, Finnaeus is five and Taryn is two.

December 14, 2008 yum Yum YUM! Over 4,000 cookies; that's one thousand each....mine are just about gone!

December 13, 2008 We hit snow in West Virginia. The highways were clear, but the landscape was a winter wonderland. No clowning around. We stopped to see Kathy's sister in Bethel Park, PA.

We drove into PA at 11:05.

A Kentucky morning. This is why we winter texans do what we do! All that snow, cold air, icicles, mittens and scarfs, heavy coats and hats, snow boots, and skiing, building snowmen, snowball fights, making snow angels, rosy cheeks. . . . .

We had hundreds of snow geese fly over; many landed on a feild turning it white. And the sun sets on a long day of driving.

1:00 in the afternoon and we made it to Arkansas!

December 12,2008 36 minutes and we have a new tire on and are back on the highway. We really like Discount Tire!

Sunrise along I35E. We were taking one hour shifts with driving.

8 miles south of Falfurrias, Texas, Kathy was driving her hour shift when the back passenger tire shreaded itself and went flat. Called AAA and had a two hour wait. The border patrol came to see if we were waiting to pick up a group of illegals but after showing them the shreaded tire we were believed. We watched some Babylon5 and waited. It was midnight by the time we hit the road.

Well, sitting in traffic on 77 the brake light came on again. We finally got to an exit. There was a three car accident with five fire trucks and loads of police. Mary, you would have had lots to talk about on a drive with the police tonight. Back to the MR2. No brake fluid left! Got the car back to Dixie and transferred everything back to the Roadtek and off we go again. Pittsburgh or bust!

First the brake light came on about twenty minutes into the trip. We had to stop and put in fluid. Good thing we carry it. Then came the back up on Expressway 77. We have been sitting 15 minutes. It is a three car pile-up and we waited and waited to get off at the next exit. What a way to start the trip north.

December 10, 2008 We spent the day in Progresso. Will had his boots polished by our favorite boot polisher while Kathy strolled through the shops and bought herself a new bright orange outfit. Then we sat in our favorite restaurant listening to the live music. This young man can surely sing Cucuru Paloma
